Dale County School officials report new active COVID-19 cases

DALE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) – Two students in the Dale County School System recently tested positive for COVID-19.

In a Facebook post on the Dale County Board of Education account Sunday evening, the system reported a student at G.W. Long High School and a student who attends Newton School tested positive over the weekend. Both students had been in quarantine due to family members testing positive for the virus.

School officials ask parents to “monitor for symptoms related to COVID-19 and seek medical attention if symptoms appear.”

Both students had not been on their respective campuses for more than a week.

“Since the students were in quarantine due to a positive case at home it prevented exposure at school,” the post said.
