Dale County Commission Chairman speaks out in favor of new state gas tax

Several polls indicate the passage of  Governor Ivey’s ten-cent-per-gallon fuel tax increase has been overwhelmingly opposed by Alabamians.

At this week’s Ozark Chamber of Commerce breakfast, state representative Steve Clouse explained the benefits of how it will help replace the aging county infrastructure. A point echoed by Dale County Commission Chairman Mark Blankenship.

Blankenship says folks are angry over paying more for gas, but they will see paving on roads that haven’t been resurfaced in 50 or 60 years.
