The Covington County EMA teamed up with Nixle to execute its Notification System to alert residents in real-time for localized emergency situations and relevant community advisories.

There are two ways to register as a resident.

  1.  Text your ZIPCODE to 888777 from your mobile phone
  2. Go to www.covcounty.com/emergency-management-agency and sign up via the Nixle Widget

After the completion of registration, residents will receive a confirmation text to their mobile device. Residents can customize their alert settings by going to www.nixle.com and creating a User Profile.

“Our plan is to go online with a full launch of this great resource for Covington County Citizens by May 31, 2019. We want to keep you safe, aware and informed” EMA Director Susan Harris said.

The service is secure, reliable and easy to use for Nixle.

All alerts will be targeted geographically, which will allow residents to receive local and relevant alerts that impact the Covington County area. Nixle alerts can be sent through text, e-mail, voice, web, social media, and the Nixle Mobile App in an instant. Nixle is partnered with NLETS for unmatched data security, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, National Blue Alert Network, and Google for unmatched reach and two-way information exchange.

If you have any questions about this notification system or need assistance with signing up, you can visit the office at 272 Hillcrest Drive, Andalusia, Alabama, or call at 334-428-2670.
