Cottonwood home engulfed in flames Friday evening

COTTONWOOD, Ala. (WDHN) — Cottonwood Fire Department responding to a structure fire on Metcalf Street around 4:30 p.m. Friday evening.

When the fire department arrived, the home was engulfed in flames with smoke visible. Multiple fire units assisted in knocking the fire down as quickly as possible.

Fire chief Randy Hall says there were three occupants inside of the home.

“During the structure fire, we ended up with three injuries that were transported to the medical center for treatment,” Chief Hall said.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is being investigated by the Cottonwood police department.
