SLOCOMB, Ala. (WDHN) — A community is in mourning following the death of 19-year-old Brady Wallace who died in a weekend house fire.
Early Sunday morning, Slocomb law enforcement responded to reports that a fire had started at 514 North Morris.
According to reports, 19-year-old Brady Wallace was spending the night at the home when the fire began.
A neighbor told WDHN the family thought Brady made it out but then they noticed his truck.
“Once they (were) made aware the victim was inside, they did an interior search,” Slocomb Operations Chief Kyle Hovey said. “They were able to locate the victim and remove him from the house. The Geneva coroner pronounced the victim dead on the scene.”
Members of the community told News 18 Brady was an outstanding individual who loved his family and friends.
Funeral arrangements are currently being made.
