COLUMBIA, Ala. (WDHN) — One of the Wiregrass’ Halloween traditions has fallen victim to COVID-19.
The Columbia Manor will not open its door this Halloween. The decision came after multiple years if having 500-1,000 customers.
Owner Todd Chandler explained how they were worried keeping guests and volunteer staff healthy.
“Right we’re very fortunate. This would have been our 12th year of being open and I’d say for the last five years we’ve done over 7,000 customers in thirteen nights. We had great customers and great staff and everything but just for the safety of, any small night we may have five hundred people in the yard. A large night would get up to around 1200,” Chandler said.
The manor says its hopes to reopen for the 2021 spooky season.
