Coffee County Extension warns of Chinese seed packets

COFFEE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Alabamians’ are receiving mysterious and unsolicited packets of seeds in the mail.

From China at today’s Coffee County commission meeting, extension agent Gavin Mauldin says Wiregrass residents are receiving the seeds. It’s unclear if it’s an act of agricultural “Bio-terrorism”.

“It’s called a brushing scam, that’s what its called right now but we need to keep the packing in the point of where it comes from, where its shipped from in the event law enforcement their able to,” Mauldin said.

Mauldin stresses not to plant, or flush them down the commode. But, he has no knowledge of communist China involved in a garden-based ‘warfare”.
