ABBEVILLE, Ala. (WDHN) — In early August, the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office made a decision to send election observers to Abbeville to ensure the election process goes smoothly.
Some citizens believed this was a good decision.
“I guess when I first read about it, I was a little concerned that they were concerned, and I’m sure that some people may have some issues,” Abbeville citizen Veronica Trimbel said. “I personally don’t, but the fact that they came and that they’re clearing us is a good thing, I think.”
Trimbel wished it wasn’t needed but believes this is a sure way to make sure there’s no cheating.
Another citizen said observers should be sent everywhere for elections.
“I think that should be everywhere for the safety and all of the votes are really counted, and your I.D. is shown,” Abbeville citizen Carlette Butler said. “Hopefully, everything goes alright to the best winner.”
