ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — Every Christmas the Coffee County Family Services Center in Enterprise provides hundreds of children with Christmas gifts.
The center signs families up to receive the gifts that people in the community donate.
This year, a lot of bikes were donated.
“The Brooks family and Southern Bone and Joint saw the need that we had and made a very very generous donation so that many of our children could have bicycles for Christmas,” Coffee County Family Services Executive Director Judy Crowley said.
Family Services received 60+ bikes for donations.
The bikes are being transported by employees at Ed Sherling Ford in Enterprise, which were first transported over to Southern Bone and Joint, who are proud to help.
“She came to us with this idea, along with Judge Sherling with Sherling Ford and put this wonderful program together and we are just happy to be a small part of it,” Orthopedic Surgeon Fleming Brooks said. “To be able to help fund the purchase of the bicycles for these children.”
Family Services and Southern Bone and Joint have been working on the project for a while, and they say a lot of effort has gone into this project.
Family Services are aware of the families in need.
“These will be handed out during toys for tots on Tuesday,” Crowley said. “The parents have already signed their children up, and we know which children need bicycles. So, they’ll have those on Tuesday so they can give them to their children on Christmas morning.”
