Charges upgraded to manslaughter in deadly boating crash along Causeway

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The man accused of causing a boating crash that killed two people and injured another in Mobile Bay is now facing upgraded charges.

Steven Angle was booked back into the Baldwin County Corrections Center Tuesday morning on two counts of manslaughter and one count of assault.

Angle had previously been booked and released on a charge of boating under the influence for Sunday’s crash near the Causeway.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Angle was drunk when he crashed into a pylon under the Bayway.

Troopers identified the two victims who died as 60-year-old Bobby Daryl Lambert of Chickasaw and 28-year-old Brittany Ann Lell of Dothan. The third victim, identified as 41-year-old Erica Lynn Arenal-Mullen of Dothan, remains in critical condition.
