DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Alabama’s census deadline has been extended until October 31st.
Census coordinator Lori Wilcoxon spoke to city commissioners about a plan to gain participation in the community. Wilcoxon says they are close to their goal of 80 percent participation.
Leaders say residents who complete the census have a direct impact on the future of their community.
“It is urgent that we get the message out to our neighbors, our community to take the census because even if I took it I’m still going to suffer from those that don’t,” Wilcoxon said.
Wilcoxon urges citizens to participate and help get Dothan’s census participation to where it needs to be. For more information, visit mycensus.gov.
