New information from a source involved in the investigation of the alleged raccoon incident has revealed a plot twist in the matter.

As it turns out, the raccoon didn’t exist. It was all a cover story.

According to the source, the woman who was injured in the accident was responsible. She fired a gun and hit her lover in the left arm before shooting herself in the right leg.

When investigators arrived, she told them the elaborate story of how the imaginary raccoon attempted to enter their home through their back door, prompting her to shoot it.

She is set to be charged with domestic violence.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — An attempt to shoot and kill a raccoon in Chapelwood Thursday afternoon took a wrong turn.

Two people on Brighton Court were shot when the gun involved accidentally fired. Injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, but that information has not been officially verified at this time.

Dothan police were on scene and advised that they could not release official information at this time. Investigators have been called to the scene of the shooting.

The status of the raccoon and why they tried to kill it are not known at this hour.
