BREAKING: Flowers Hospital confirms first patient diagnosed with COVID-19

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Flowers Hospital has confirmed its first case of the coronavirus.

In a statement released Monday afternoon, the hospital said “the individual has been separated from other patients in an appropriate infection isolation room which only a small team of caregivers can access. The patient remains in our care and we are continuing to work collaboratively with the Alabama Department of Public Health.”

According to the hospital, the facility is “well prepared to support this patient during treatment and to continue providing medical care for all patients in our care while protecting the safety of our caregiving team and other patients.”
