Bill open to extend hours of Coffee County Board of Registrars

News

A local bill to extend the Coffee County Board of Registars‘ workdays is now before the Alabama legislature.

Coffee County registars say the rapid population growth requires their office to extend its operation from 199 to 220 days annually. For each of the  state’s 67 counties, the board of registrars is open based on population.

The local bill is expected to be voted on by state lawmakers in the next several weeks.
