As vaccinations continue, concerns rise regarding demand

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — With Alabama moving into Phase 1C of the COVID-19 vaccination plan, some are concerned with the amount of doses available.

Providers are receiving between 50-60,000 doses per week. This, as the Houston County Health Department administers over 200 shots a day.

With the state quickly moving into a new phase, some people are worried about the future of the next phases.

“I think we’ll have to go week by week and see where we are with the demand as well as the numbers that we’ve been able to do,” said Southeast District Administrator Corey Kirkland.

Phase 1B includes people 75 and older and those who were eligible in Phase 1A.
