Police apprehend ‘armed and dangerous’ suspect in Opp shooting

Suspect William Rodeshia Stoutamire was arrested 3:25 p.m. Monday in connection to a shooting in Opp.

The Opp Police Department alleges that Stoutamire shot a man multiple times Saturday morning at the Covington Apartments.

Authorities found him in a guest house behind a residence on Rags Road, Andalusia, Alabama. Opp police Chief Kevin Chance said Stoutamire was arrested without incident.

OPP, Ala. (WDHN) — Law enforcement officials are on the lookout for a suspect they say shot a man in Opp, Ala., early Saturday morning.

Opp Police say the shooting happened at Covington Apartments on West Cummings Avenue around 3:00 am Saturday morning. A 22-year-old man had been shot several times when officers arrived on the scene.

Opp Police are searching for William Rodeshia Stoutamire, 24, of Samson, Ala., in connection with the shooting. Stoutamire is wanted for attempted murder. Police caution Stoutamire should be considered “armed and dangerous.”

Anyone with information regarding the location or whereabouts of Stoutamire is asked to immediately call police or the CrimeStoppers tip line at 215-STOP (7867).
