Ameris Bank fights food insecurity with food drive, accepting donations

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Food shortage and food insecurity have been rising since 2010, so Ameris Bank is helping with that by a company-wide food drive.

The project unites all banking locations and support departments to collect as many non-perishable food items as possible.

Local food banks will benefit from the project by receiving a monetary donation from the bank.

“Every year we collect cans for the month of October and we give them to our local food banks, so we for the month of October we’ve just been collecting our can we are hoping to get the community so we can get more cans,” Michelle Williams said.

The westside location will be accepting donations until October 31st.
