ALVA supports graduating seniors with drive-by motorcade

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Alabama Virtual Academy at Eufaula City Schools is preparing to graduate their seniors Friday.

Due to COVID-19, students have been confined in their homes for quite some time now. School leaders started a motorcade Thursday afternoon at the Dothan Hobby Lobby with their cars decorated driving throughout Dothan to show love and support to the graduating seniors.

The school leaders made one stop by the house of Jackson and Holden Hallford and the brothers were thankful for the effort.

“I know a lot of people are disappointed and wanted a traditional graduation but I do appreciate the effort for driving all the way from Eufaula because we live out here in the boondocks. That took some effort,” Holden Hallford said.

The brothers will stay together and head to Samford University to further their education.
