Wesley Place now reporting 16 COVID-19 cases among residents, staff

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Wesley Place is now reporting new cases of COVID-19 among its staff and residents, according to a spokesperson.

According to marketing director Holly Whitehead, four residents and 12 employees have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Out of these cases, only two residents and two employees are showing symptoms.

Previously, there were three residents who tested positive but had recovered from the virus. They are no longer in isolation after testing negative for COVID-19 twice.

Last week, it was discovered that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services was reporting the wrong number of cases and even reported false deaths on its website. As of this report, the government-run website is still reporting the wrong data for Wesley Place.
