DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Southeast Health Foundation kicked off its virtual COVID-19k Monday to raise money for personal protective equipment.
The medical center’s foundation is known for holding fundraisers and events throughout the year, but this year will have to look different because of COVID-19 guidelines.
Foundation director Merideth Holland explained how much this virtual race will help the center and keep people involved.
“So we’ve had folks register from Dallas, and Kansas, and Montgomery so one of the things we wanted to do was to try to create a community around standing behind the front line, and so lots of people are wondering what can they do,” Holland said. “We think it’s important to do this kind of event because it makes us all part of something bigger than ourselves.”
Registration is open until Aug. 7 on the Southeast Health Foundation’s website.
