ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — Another employee of the Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation Center has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a release.
The center learned Monday morning that the employee tested positive for the virus and that they are now receiving medical care.
According to Administrator Wes Averett, the employee was infected by someone outside the facility. The facility already told health officials what happened and is currently informing staff members, residents, and their families of the situation.
Three weeks ago, an Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation employee tested positive for COVID-19. Since the pandemic began, the facility has followed guidelines to prevent further infections.
We have notified the Coffee County Health Department, Alabama Department of Public Health, and Centers for Disease Control of this case. We are in the process of notifying our residents, their families and our staff members.
“These measures include the use of appropriate personal protective equipment, monitoring resident signs/symptoms multiple times daily, and logging staff temperatures when reporting for work, along with monitoring signs/symptoms throughout their shift,” Averett wrote. “The health and safety of our residents and staff is our top priority. We are asking for the understanding and patience of the families with loved ones in our care as we do our very best to ensure the well-being of our residents.”
