COFFEE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — The Alabama Department of Public Health is now reporting 98 cases of COVID-19 among Coffee County residents, per its dashboard.

This is the highest total among Alabama counties in the WDHN viewing area. Last Friday, Coffee County overtook Houston County in its total COVID-19 cases.

As of this report, Houston County has 79 positive cases out of 667 tests. Coffee County has seen an uptick in testing over the weekend, with at least 615 people being tested.

However, another change has been made in the county’s death count. For the second time, the ADPH retracted the county’s first death.
