Low COVID-19 case count due to lab issues, ADPH says

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WDHN) — The Alabama Department of Public Health reported a low number of COVID-19 cases Tuesday, but it appears that this is due to an issue.

The ADPH said in an online statement that a lab that sends test reports to the ADPH had connectivity problems. Other labs also sent their files in a different format and have been added to the database as well.

As a result, these case numbers will be added to the numbers for this Wednesday, which are based on numbers reported by healthcare providers and laboratories. As such, the ADPH does not control when these delays happen.
