Houston, Dale counties upgraded to high COVID-19 risk levels; Coffee still at highest risk


DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Houston and Dale counties have been upgraded to a high risk level for COVID-19, following the state’s worsening situation when it comes to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dale County reported that 7.16 percent of the COVID-19 deaths in that area came back positive last week. Houston County reported a percent positive rate of 5.71 percent.

This is lower than the state’s percentage, which rose to 8.1 percent.

Meanwhile, Coffee County remains as the highest risk region in our area, with 10.28 percent of its COVID-19 tests coming back positive. This is an increase of around 3.5 percentage points from our last report.
