Flowers sees increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Hospitalizations at Flowers Hospitals have begun to rise again, increasing from 28 reported patients on Monday morning to 35 Wednesday morning.

According to text updates from Chris Judah, director of the Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Agency, this is the second time since the beginning of November that the number of COVID-19 inpatients rose past 30.

Across the state, Alabama continues to see a record number of COVID-19 hospitalizations. Tuesday saw the highest number of patients ever, with 107 hospitals reporting 1,785 COVID-19 patients.

COVID-19 hospitalizations across the country also are reaching record highs. The COVID Tracking Project reported 98,691 hospitalizations Tuesday, the highest number yet.
