Dothan City Schools explains what happens when employees, students get COVID-19

Coronavirus

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan City Schools released a statement of protocol for what will happen if a student or staff member contracts the virus.

The protocol explains that: “Upon receiving a notice of a positive test, district officials will initiate contact with the Houston County Health Department to determine the necessary steps to inform those who may have been exposed to the virus.”

Recently, Dothan High School football coach Smitty Grider spoke on behalf of his players and staff.

“Well we haven’t had any players that have been infected,” Grider said. “We’ve had two coaches. One was in. It happened to him before we actually started summer workouts, and then we had a coach that was at a wedding where he contracted the virus, and we’ve sent him home with his group that he was working with.”
