NEW BROCKTON, Ala. (WDHN) — James Brown, Coffee County Emergency Management Agency director, voiced concern about the delay in COVID-19 testing numbers.
Recently, the county was listed in the moderate risk range, but that status has increased to “High.”
For a while, Coffee County was averaging five positive cases per day, but that number has jumped to 10 a day.
“Cases per day, last week, we had 78 cases over a 14 day period, so about five a day,” Brown said. “This week, we’re showing 146 cases over a 14 day period or about 10 a da so you see, we almost doubled in a week.”
As of this report, Brown said most area hospital intensive care units are filled with mainly coronavirus patients.
