TROY, Ala. (WDHN) — A City of Troy employee has tested positive for COVID-19, according to Mayor Jason Reeves.
The employee is said to be the second case confirmed in Pike County and had very limited contact with the public while working.
“They have been home for over a week and are feeling better,” Reeves wrote. “It is vital we practice social distancing and all ADPH and CDC guidelines on hygiene and hand washing. The ADPH will notify anyone who could have been exposed to the virus by direct contact.”
The employee is now under quarantine. The city plans to continue updating the public on the situation.
Aside from the two Pike county cases, Troy University confirmed two cases Wednesday: a female student from southwest Alabama and a faculty member from Montgomery County.
