DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Houston County Farm Center’s parking lot was full of people waiting to get tested for COVID-19 Wednesday morning.
The testing, which is held Wednesday mornings between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., is normally held at the Houston County Health Department, but due to the large number of people wanting to get tested, it was moved next door to the farm center.
“Well the last couple of times, we’ve had a very high turnout,” Administrator Corey Kirkland said. “Last week was 216 we actually saw come through so we were stacking cars at the farm center, but it’s such a tight turn, and it’s a busy highway so for safety reasons and to make it more efficient for our testers, we moved back over to the farm center.
Kirkland said they are expecting to give between 150 to 200 tests during the two-hour testing period.
Drive-through COVID-19 testing clinics will also be offered next Wednesday morning between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. at the Farm Center on East Cottonwood Road again
Another COVID-19 testing site will be set up at the same time Thursday at Northview Christian Church on Bic Road in Dothan.
