Alabama confirms more than 1,200 cases of COVID-19; only five counties left without virus


MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WDHN) — The Alabama Department of Public Health reported 1,202 cases of COVID-19 across most of the state.

Thirty-two deaths have been reported, although 17 of those have been confirmed to be due to the novel coronavirus.

The ADPH dashboard reports nine cases of the virus in Houston County, seven in Pike County, three in Covington County, and one in Dale County. No deaths have been reported in these counties.

Southeast Health confirmed its first death Wednesday, although this is not included in the current death tally in Alabama. They also reported 19 cases Thursday.
