16 workers, 21 residents test positive for COVID-19 at Ozark nursing home

OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — Oakview Manor Health Care and Rehab Center in Ozark has confirmed 37 COVID-19 cases among its residents and employees, according to a press release.

As of July 7, 16 employees were found to have the virus, but two of those employees have since tested negative and are now back at work.

When all the residents were tested by June 30, only one asymptomatic carrier was found, but later tests found that 21 residents had COVID-19.

These residents are now being cared for in a secure isolation unit. Residents’ families are being notified weekly on the facility’s attempts to stem the infection.

They are also told of any new positive cases.
