Mentor Me Fair gives students the chance to dialogue with leaders

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Liberty Learning Foundation partnered with Dothan City Schools and the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce as part of the Mentor Me Fair Tuesday morning.

This is a way to bring the Citizen Promise program to life in ninth through 12th grades this year.

The one-of-a-kind initiative is to help create life, career and citizen-ready students by pairing them with mentors and organizations that can give the kids opportunities to succeed.

“They can come in and meet some representatives from our school and let us know how they can support and serve our students in our schools so it’s just a blessing to be able to have the community support and the connections for our students,” said Tamika Fleming, principal of Heard Elementary School.

Fleming says this event is important because it makes a difference when the community, as well as the schools, come together to help the students.
