Violent felon escapes ADOC custody

(WDHN) — A violent criminal escaped work release in Clay County.

The Alabama Department of Corrections said Terry Christopher Searcy left his job location in Ashland early Thursday morning.

Searcy was convicted in Shelby County for first-degree assault and was sentenced to 20 years in prison back in 2016.

He is described as standing five feet ten inches tall and weighs 160 pounds.
