Convicted robber escapes county jail

GREENVILLE, Ala. (WDHN) — The Alabama Department of Corrections is searching for an escaped inmate.

Jerome N. Sharp, 32, escaped from the Butler County Jail in Greenville at around 5 a.m. Monday. He was serving a 20-year sentence for a first-degree robbery conviction out of Montgomery County after being captured for violating parole.

Sharp was wearing an orange jumpsuit at the time of his escape. He stands at five feet NINE inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.
