Trojans hit the road to face Arkansas State

The Troy men’s basketball team heads to Arkansas State to take on the Red Wolves.
JONESBORO, Ark. – The Troy men’s basketball team (5-9, 0-2 SBC) heads to Arkansas State (9-4, 2-0 SBC) to take on the Red Wolves at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday.

The Trojans enter the game having dropped two straight in conference, at Georgia State and at home against Western Kentucky. Troy is led by Antoine Myers at 12.4 points per game on the season. Kevin Thomas is the team’s leading rebounder at 8.3 boards per game and is second on the team in scoring at 11.1 points per contest.

The Trojans are second in the conference in scoring defense, holding opponents to just 67.4 points per game on the year, while holding opponents to 42 percent shooting from the field.

Arkansas State enters the game having won four straight, including road contests at UT Arlington and Texas State to start conference Play. Kirk Van Slyke leads the Red Wolves in scoring at 16.2 points per game, while Melvin Johnson III is a close second at 14.7 points per contest.

The Trojans are 6-5 all-time against the Red Wolves. These two teams met three times last season, with the home team winning both regular season games. Arkansas State would go on to win the final meeting, in the Sun Belt Conference Championship Quarterfinals.
