The ACHT is an affiliate of the Alabama Hospital Association (ALAHA), the state’s only trade organization for hospitals. ACHT is comprised of trustees from healthcare facilities all across Alabama. Its function is to support hospital trustees through educational programs, publications and networking. The ACHT board meets four times during the year.
Mr. Long has been asked to fulfill the remainder of a term that expires in June 2014. He was appointed to the Houston County Health Care Authority in February 2012.
The HCHCA is a 13-member board which provides governance for Southeast Alabama Medical Center. The all-volunteer panel is appointed by the Houston County Commission.
Mr. Long is the owner of Loncar’s, Inc., a hair care and massage therapy business in Dothan. He has more than 40 years in the profession and is the author of Hair Styles for the Black Woman. He also produced, directed and co-wrote an educational video on massage therapy and chiropractic entitled “Embracing.”
Mr. Long lives in Dothan with his wife, Mary Louise. He is a longtime member of the American Massage Therapy Association, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 798, the Wiregrass Optimist Club, the Dothan City Board of Zoning and Adjustment and the Citizens Supervisory Committee. He is a former member of the Dothan City Recreation Board.
