Enterprise offers cold weather shelter

Near record cold temperatures expected to leave some looking for heated accomodations.
A warming station has been opened in Enterprise for people needing shelter from the unusually cold weather. The Enterprise Recreation Center at 421 East Lee Street will house those looking to escape the cold. It will remain open until noon Wednesday.

“Residents that will be using the facility need to bring appropriate medicines and specialty dietary items if applicable,” said Wright. “Also, pets will not be allowed in the Recreation Center at any time due to health and possible risks associated in dealing with animals,” he said. Wright noted that service animals will be allowed.

Enterprise Communications Director Jason Wright said a limited amount of food will be available at the center.

In another cold weather issue, Wright is asking people to turn off their automatic sprinkler systems. Water from those systems could cause ice to form making it dangerous for people trying to walk or drive.
