A teenager has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a 12-year old child in Ozark. The victim was shot in the mouth Thursday night with what is described by police as a small caliber handgun. It occurred in the area of Briarhill Court and College Street.
“Through witness interviews law enforcement was able to locate the suspect at a residence (not where shooting occurred) at which time he was taken into custody,” said Ozark Police Chief Tony Spivey. "He was released to the Alabama Department of Youth Services.” The name of the person arrested was not immediately released due to his age. He was also charged with Possession of Marijuana.
Spivey said the victim suffered what he describes as “non-life threatening wounds.”
