The Alabama Municipal Electric Authority and the City of
Dothan are offering 33, $2,500 scholarships to high school seniors. The annual
program was announced on Tuesday and applications are now being taken.
To apply, the student must be graduating in Spring, 2014;
receive electric service from a public power utility (i.e. City of Dothan) that
is a member of AMEA; and the student must plan to attend an Alabama college or
university. Regular AND technical school scholarships are available.
According to a news release, the AMEA Scholarship Program
has awarded scholarships each year since 1992. Awards given out in 2013 totaled
