The National Weather Service is predicting freezing rain with the possibility of sleet and light snow Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to dip below freezing Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
During periods of extreme cold, the runoff from sprinkler systems can cause icing conditions on roads, streets and sidewalks, making them potentially hazardous for drivers and pedestrians. Officials said businesses and residents should be cautious about sprinkler system operation anytime the area is experiencing below-freezing temperatures.
