“Three additional charges were filed Tuesday in Houston County, one was filed in Geneva County and two others in Coffee County,” said Houston County Sheriff’s Investigator Lt. Bill Rafferty. McArdle was charged with 16 additional stalking charges November 22.
McArdle was arrested November 16 accusing him of placing phone calls to a woman. While physical violence threats are not believed to have been made, Rafferty said the calls were of an alarming nature. “The victims are very concerned,” he said.
Rafferty said he believes McArdle targeted at least 20 women though not all victims want to pursue criminal charges. He doesn’t rule out that yet more charges may be filed. There are currently multiple charges filed in cases involving some of the alleged victims.
During a press conference held two days after McArdle was taken into custody Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes said the case was difficult to solve. He said McArdle was using a prepaid phone that could be activated without revealing his identity.
McArdle is being held on bonds totaling over $4-million. A hearing to reduce bond is scheduled for next week.
