One dead after crash in Butler County

One person is dead after a crash in Butler County.
A two-vehicle crash at 6:20 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, in Butler County claimed one life and injured two others.

The crash occurred on Interstate 65 at the 136 mile marker, seven miles north of Greenville.

Kim Marie Riebe, 46, of Gulf Shores was killed when the 1997 Chevrolet pickup in which she was a passenger was involved in a crash with a 1999 Peterbilt driven by Ronald Davis, 42, of Loxley.

Riebe was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Davis was not injured.

The driver of the pickup, Ronald Riebe, 39, along with another passenger, Matthew Davies, 25, both of Gulf Shores, were transported to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.
