Mega Millions jackpot continues to climb

The Mega Millions jackpot is closing in on a new record.
With no jackpot winner in last Friday’s MEGA MILLIONS® drawing, players now have the chance to win an estimated $586 million in the Tuesday, December 17 drawing. This is the second-largest MEGA MILLIONS jackpot in the multi-state game’s history.

In the last drawing, two Quick Pick tickets sold in Florida matched the first five numbers and each won $1 million. The locations that sold the $1 million winning tickets were 7-Eleven, located at 10721 Miller Road in Miami, and 7-Eleven, located at 401 Seabreeze Avenue in Ft. Lauderdale.

“We are thrilled that two of our players were made millionaires over the weekend,” said Florida Lottery Secretary Cynthia O’Connell. ”We are hopeful that Tuesday night’s drawing will produce even more Florida winners!”

If one ticket matches all six numbers for the $586 million mega-jackpot, the winner will have the choice of receiving the full jackpot in 30 annual payments, or a cash option of approximately $316 million before taxes. This jackpot has been growing since October 1, when MEGA MILLIONS had its most recent jackpot winner. The jackpot has now rolled 21 times without a winner.

MEGA MILLIONS tickets cost $. Players have the option to add Megaplier for $1 more per play, for the chance to multiply non-jackpot winnings by up to five times. Drawings for MEGA MILLIONS are held Tuesday and Friday nights at 11:00 p.m. ET.

Florida Lottery players also have the chance to win a MEGA MONEY™ jackpot this Tuesday night. After not having a jackpot winner in Friday’s drawing, the current MEGA MONEY jackpot is a guaranteed $550,000. MEGA MONEY tickets cost $1 and drawings are held Tuesday and Friday nights at 11:15 p.m. ET.
