Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, at First Baptist Church of Slocomb with Rev. Dan Raley officiating. Burial will follow in Hurricane Methodist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and will continue until service time.
Mrs. Tindell was born January 27, 1929 in Geneva County to the late Wilburn Milton and Anna Ree Vanlandingham Burch. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Slocomb.
Her husband Lex Derward Tindell preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters: Nina Tindell Dew (James), Hartford and Neva Tindell Smith, Dothan; three sisters: Lou Whaley, Dothan, Sarah Christell Schneider, Pennsylvania and Martha Boyette (Bill), Mississippi; one brother, Charles R. Burch (Mary Nell), Bainbridge, GA; four grandchildren: Jamey Avery (Teisha), Wendy Morgan (Bill), Brandon Smith (Astyn) and Byron Smith (Hillary); four great grandchildren: Avery, John, and Michael Morgan and Ellie Smith.
The family would like to thank two special caregivers Sue McCormick and Cindy Long who ministered and shared their lives for three years with our parents and family.
