"We enjoy football season when it comes around we look forward to it it's exciting. The pizza parties, the wing parties and just coming to the games and cheering on," said Latonya Myles of Dothan.
To keep up with those parties and tailgates, local restaurants try to get ready as much as they can for the crowds and the orders.
"There's really no way to prepare for it. I mean, you never know what's going to happen you never know which games are going to be the busiest. We do our ordering a few days in advance of the games to make sure we have enough chicken and enough wings, boneless wings and everything on hand because we sell a lot of them," said Candice Bryant, supervisor at “Things & Wings” in Dothan.
It sounds like a lot of work--and it is--but that hard work has its benefits.
"We look forward to it. It's fun. Not only is it football season but you know, we're busier and we're making more money. Companies are making more money, we're making more money but it's also fun cause it's football," said Bryant.
The season may start tonight but fans have been buying clothes, hats and all kinds of apparel for the last few weeks.
"We have several stores, campus spirits in several other places and we found that Dothan is probably the biggest home of fans here. Football is huge in Dothan," said Cheryl Floyd, manager of “Campus Spirit” in Dothan.
Whether you say Roll Tide, War Eagle or Go Trojans--everyone is happy that football is back--especially those who are cashing in on the excitement.
