“I made a commitment when I was a candidate in 2010 to support economic growth and bring jobs to Houston County,” Jackie Battles said.
Houston County Commissioner Jackie Battles announced Thursday he is seeking re-election. Battles, who represents District 3, told a group of supporters he wants to build on what he calls several accomplishments during his first term.
“I made a commitment when I was a candidate in 2010 to support economic growth and bring jobs to Houston County,” Battles said. “There are over 1200 people working in the county now compared to then.” The commissioner noted that he personally brought a Tennessee-based company to Dothan.
Battles considers his greatest attribute a willingness to listen to people. “I’m approachable,” he said.
Battles is opposed by former Dothan mayor Pat Thomas.
