Police Chief Greg Benton claims Straub filed the bogus report due to “financial hardships.”
A man who claimed he was robbed at a Dothan car wash has been arrested and charged with making a false report. Henry Struab, 50, of Emmons Drive told police he was the victim of a holdup while cleaning his car at wash located on South Oates Street. Investigators later determined that no crime was committed.
Police Chief Greg Benton, in a written media release, said Straub filed the bogus report due to “financial hardships.”
The report caused Dothan High School to be placed on lockdown due to its close proximity to the scene. The holdup was reported after two other robberies occurred earlier Wednesday.
Straub was jailed in lieu of $500 bond.
