Harbor House to Open Soon

Homeless Women with Children will Soon Have a Place to Live.
Homeless women with children will soon have a place to live.  The Harbor Church on North Foster Street is starting up the "Harbor House."

The house will be a building of 16 one-bedroom apartments on Pettus and Hammond Streets near Downtown Dothan.

Harbor House's purpose is to provide a roof over homeless women and children's heads while they look for jobs to get them in the right direction.

Monday night, the church held a meeting to give information to various groups about adopting a room and family.

Organizations can adopt a room, meaning they pay to have the room painted and furnished.

After that, they can adopt the family.  Harbor Church would like the groups to keep in contact with the families after move-in, just to keep them on the right track.

The apartments are set to open sometime in early January.

If you're interested in adopting a room or family, email harborhousedothan@gmail.com.
