Grocery store employee arrested for in-store theft

On October 25, 2013 the Dothan Police Department responded to the “Food Depot” located at 409 Columbia Highway, in reference to a Theft of Property complaint.
On October 25, 2013 the Dothan Police Department responded to the “Food Depot” located at 409 Columbia Highway, in reference to a Theft of Property complaint.

Upon arrival, officers were advised that an employee of the business had a bank bag, containing money from the stores vending machines, taken after placing it in a push cart, by Larry Thompson. The employee chased Thompson to the corner of South Appletree Street and E Washington Street, where Thompson turned around and threatened to shoot him. The employee made contact with a responding patrolman, who advised other officers in the area of the suspect’s location.

Thompson was located and taken into custody in an abandoned home on the 300 block of South College Street. His arrest now brings this case to a close.

•Larry Bernard Thompson, black male, 17 years of age, of Seminary Street was arrested and charged as an adult, with first degree Robbery and third degree Burglary. Thompson is being held without bond. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
