The body of a Ft. Rucker
solider was found Thursday after a two day search. The solider was participating in a navigation
training exercise Wednesday but did not return, according to a written
statement issued by the U.S. Army. A
search was then launched for the warrant officer candidate.
The release said up to 100
persons participated in the search that included assistance from bloodhounds
furnished by the Houston County Sheriff's Office. The search continued overnight.
"A Centralized Accident
Investigation team has been deployed to lead an inquiry into the soldier's
death," according to the release.
However, the Army said foul play is not suspected but did not indicate the
probable cause of death.
The name of the deceased has not been released pending notification of relatives.
